Daniel Pimentel
Daniel is a PhD Candidate in Science Education, Education Data Science, and Learning Sciences and Technology Design. He holds a B.S. in Biology and an M.Ed in Secondary Education from Boston College. He also received an Advanced Certificate in Special Education from the Relay Graduate School of Education in New York City. His research interests include professional learning for science educators, teaching and learning about data practices in secondary science classrooms, and technologies that support student sensemaking. Before coming to Stanford, Daniel spent five years teaching middle school science and high school chemistry in Brooklyn, NY. In his free time, Daniel enjoys meditating, watching Rupaul’s Drag Race, and reading mystery novels.
